Tour Description
Step away from the polished waterfront of Minato Mirai and dive into the authentic night hours of Showa-era Japan. Just minutes from Yokohama’s modern landmark towers lies Noge, a nostalgic nightlife enclave packed with over 600 izakayas, bars, and food stalls.
On this 3-hour guided evening tour, you will navigate local haunts that rarely offer English menus – from traditional yakitori skewers to standing bars (kakuuchi). Your English-speaking guide will handle ordering, break down Japan’s iconic aka-chochin (red lantern) drinking etiquette, and help you savor real neighborhood comfort food alongside local office workers. Before entering Noge’s vibrant maze, you will also stroll through Isezakicho Mall – a historic arcade rich in music history and Meiji/Showa-era legacy.
On this tour, you’ll enjoy a drink of your choice and a plate of local food at three different styles of izakaya.
※Due to the overcrowded nature of izakayas on tours departing on Fridays, Saturdays, and Public Holidays, the number of izakayas we visit might be reduced from 3 to 2. You will still be able to enjoy a total of 3 drinks and the volume/quality of food will be the same as if you were visiting 3 Izakayas. Thank you for your understanding.
