Hi, I’m your local guide, Micah! I grew up in Kamata area – a vibrant, character-rich neighbourhood in Tokyo – and lived there for many years. Even today, as a resident of neighbouring Yokohama, Kamata remains my playground, and I frequently wander back to its unique alleyways and hidden food culture. I am also deeply in love with my current home, Yokohama. Beyond its stunning bayside views lies a city rich in unique history, culture, and thriving local communities.
Having lived abroad in 6 different countries, I deeply understand the journey of a traveller. I know the magic of stepping off the beaten path and experiencing a destination not as a tourist, but through the eyes of a local. As a bilingual guide with an international perspective, my mission is to bridge the gap between global curious minds and Japan’s richest, most authentic underground scenes.
Most commercial tours take you to the same crowded spots with cookie-cutter itineraries. I created these tours(expeditions!) to offer something entirely different: raw, immersive, and truly off-the-beaten-path experiences that most travellers miss.
