Forbes Travel Guide announced the award recipients for the Forbes Travel Guide 2026 on February 10.
This prestigious award evaluates hotels, restaurants, spas, and cruises based on anonymous inspections and rates each property under a globally recognized system consisting of Five-Star, Four-Star, and Recommended categories.
Among the 2,421 award-winning properties this year, 343 hotels, 83 restaurants, and 118 spas received the coveted Five-Star rating. In Japan, 16 hotels and 6 spas were honored with a Five-Star award. The list of Japan’s Five-Star hotel recipients is as follows.

1. Executive House Zen (Hotel New Otani Tokyo)
